Social studies in Grade 5 introduces students to fundamentals of maps and geography, the basics of archaeology, and early civilizations in world history. Students complete engaging, hands-on projects; learn to glean and synthesize critical information from the text; and practice using factual information to form and support opinions, find similarities between cultures, and connect these ancient people and places to modern society.
