CSPA Activities

As important as the monetary contributions of the Parents' Association, is the presence of parents in many other aspects of the school day. Room Parents offer their support to teachers and are called upon to help in many ways. Parents work in the library and bookstore. Parents almost seem to be as much a part of the school as the staff. The time our parents are willing to give reflects the strength of our school. The parents' gifts of their time and talent are a labor of love for the children.

The Parents' Association sponsors the following activities in which parents may participate:

Assemblies
Most Wednesday mornings an assembly is held for the entire school. These include cultural performances, holiday celebrations, student talent shows and productions by each grade. A schedule is sent home at the beginning of the year. Parents are welcome to attend all assemblies. Click here for the assembly schedule.

Awards Day & Graduation Decorations
This committee is responsible for decorating the Assembly Room for Awards Day and Graduation.

Back to School Supplies
The Country School provides all back to school supplies to its students with Parent Association funds. Volunteers order, sort and distribute supplies to each classroom.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day
Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a very special day at The Country School. Grandparents and special guests are invited to our school for a day of visiting, refreshments and entertainment. Volunteers are needed to greet our guests, serve coffee and help with parking cars.

Holiday Breakfast
The Holiday Breakfast has become a favorite tradition at The Country School. Parents prepare and serve a full breakfast to the students and staff. This event is a celebration complete with festive holiday wear, decorations and music.

Hospitality
The Hospitality Committee organizes all CSPA coffees and socials including Family Fun Night and the Dorothy Andrew Day picnic. The committee also hosts receptions for families and guests following talent shows and awards assemblies.

Library
The library is a vital part of the school. We strive to provide students with easy access to our collection of books and periodicals. In addition to our librarians, Cindy Orban and Nance DuPont, many parent volunteers help keep the library current. Parents are needed to help reshelf books and update and file periodicals.

School Photos
In the fall of every year, individual and class photos are taken of students, faculty and administrators. Parents are given the opportunity to purchase a variety of packages. Parent volunteers are responsible for coordinating this event.

Sewing, Baking, and Artwork
Throughout the year there is a need for sewing, baking and artwork. This is a perfect opportunity for parents to help with school events from their homes. If your talents lie in these areas, your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
