Auction 1-25-07

ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠEvery Country School student will benefit greatly from this weekend's Parents' Association auction. In fact, it is hard to overstate the importance of a successful event to The Country School as we know it. The Parents' Association funds 100% of special programs and activities like assemblies; field trips and outdoor education; band; athletics; author and illustrator visits; the Lower School artist-in-residence; the Upper School poet-in-residence; student opening day supply packets; the third grade “Twinkle in Ten” violin lessons; The Cougar Literary Review; the Holiday Breakfast; our graduation and new parent receptions; parent education speakers; the bookstore; and the room parents fund. The CSPA also generously contributes to the cost of the Upper School musical; faculty summer professional development; special classroom equipment; and library book acquisition. In addition, the Association makes an annual contribution to the school's endowment and financial aid funds.
ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠLast year 71% of the Parents' Association revenues came in on auction night. Thus, I hope all of our parents will support the auction generously. While auction tickets only cover the cost of the event itself, generous bids, item donations, the purchase of raffle tickets, underwriting, and advertising help support the programs and activities that provide many of the special hallmarks of a Country School education. On behalf of our children, I thank you for your support.
ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠI would like to thank in advance our incredible auction chair Kathy Dawkins, who is chairing this event for the third year in a row. Her commitment, generosity, dedication, and expertise are inspiring and are incredible gifts to our school. I also want to express our school community's appreciation to live auction chair Melissa Judkins, silent auction chairs Kim Kerrigan and Donna Endzel, program chair Linda Rajacich, underwriting chairs Brad Hill and Alice Rogers, advertising chair Wendy Denny, decorating chair Fiona Weeks, set-up chair Christy Bartlett, tuition raffle chair Allison Satchell, invitations chair Michelle Corace, publicity chair Cindy Jurrius, tabulations chair Hugh Dawkins, closing chairs Steve and Kara Miller, ticket sales chair Mickee Roser, thank you chair Paige Bethke, and all of their dedicated committee members who make the event possible. It is truly a community effort that has a huge impact on what we can offer our children.
