Stay in Touch 9-28-06

ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠWe have had a wonderfully positive start to the new school year. Part of the key to keeping that momentum going for your child is to keep in touch with his or her teacher whenever you have an important concern or question. This kind of contact with the teachers, their accessibility, and their responsiveness - to say nothing of their expertise with children - are huge parts of what make an independent education all it can be.
ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠIf you do have something you wish to discuss, don't let it fester. Address it through a timely email, conference, or phone conversation. Start with the teacher, who is closest to the situation and who is in the most immediate position to be responsive. Scheduling time to discuss the concern allows the teacher to devote undivided attention and the proper amount of time to the issue at hand. If, after working things through, the situation persists, contact the appropriate division head. As always, I am also available to help address your concerns.
ᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠᅠThe faculty, division heads, and I stand committed to helping your child have as positive an experience as possible, making the most of the advantages that a Country School education offers. While we may not always see eye to eye on everything or resolve things exactly as you wish, you will always have our ears, our experience, and our sincere consideration as your partners.
