- The following CS students won or received an honorable mention in the Friends of the Talbot County Free Library Poetry Contest: Ginny Denny, Galen Marquess, Ben Schroeder, Mya Troshinsky
- A 6th grader, Gray Benson, was named to the US National Optimist Sailing Team
- Congratulations to The Cougar Times staff for doing a great job with the last issue and throughout the year
- Graduation Speakers this year will be: Perry Summers and Lucy Bond
- The Flag Carrier at graduation will be Adam Alderfer

5/2/12: Spring Talent Show

- At Oxford Day, Kristin Ketterman and Serena Kramer volunteered a bunch of time to make things work smoothly. And at Oxford Day’s 10K run, Jake Satchell won the 10K race for kids under 13.
- As part of annual regional poetry contest for the five county area we had three students inn the top 4 poems for the region. 3rd place was won by Juliette Neil, 2nd place was won by Lucy Bond, and 1st place was won by Juliette Neil.
- At this weekend’s Latin Convention which names state champions, our students did a great job. in the visual arts -- Juliette Neil and Lucy Bond won first place. In dramatic arts, Nathan Mullen won first place, in the athletic competition Stewart Spurry and Brooke Kinney won second place, in the chariot race, our team of Matt Schroeder, Stewart Spurry and Brooke Kinney won third place.
- In the academic competitions, the team of Jack Carney, Matthew Schroeder, Brooke Kinney and Tyler Urquhart brought home the 3rd place trophy and Nathan Mullen, Rainier Hood, Lucy Bond, and Stewart Spurry won first place so we won the 3rd place and the first place in the state!
4/18/12: 3rd Grade Presentation

- Juliette Neil and Stewart Spurry both presented their speeches about optimism at the Zone level contest for the Optimist Club.
- Juliette won first place for girls! She gets to go on to the 3rd level at the end of the month.
- Also, Juliette won 1st and 3rd prize in the Eastern Shore Poetry Contest, and Lucy Bond won 2nd prize.

- One of our fourth graders, James Parkinson, just earned his yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do
- Latin competition this weekend in Westminster; Our team of Juliette Neil, Lucy Bond, and Ella Joshi won second place. Our team of Nathan Mullen, Rainier Hood, Matt Schroeder and Adam Alderfer came in first. Thanks Mr. Winkler! Click here for a picture.
- Mrs. Arnesen brought 6 students to participate in the regional MathCounts competition: Zander Kramer, Joe McCalmon, John Paris, Hanna Soulati, James Zhang, William Zhao. The team of James, Joe, John, and William made it into the countdown round. And one of students won fourth place in the entire competition: John Paris. Thanks Mrs. Arnesen! Click here for a picture.

- Ellie Kilmon was selected to the Baltimore Beltway Soccer League All-Star team! She will play in the all-star game at First Mariner Bank arena in Baltimore prior to the Baltimore Blast game on January 28. Ellie played for the Centreville Cyclones in the 2011 fall outdoor season.
- Eighth grader Brandon Kerrigan was invited to show his artwork at the 2012 State House exhibit in the tunnels of the Maryland State House.
1/18/12: 4th Grade Presentation

- One of our sixth graders this fall competed in New Orleans in the All State Sugar Bowl, which is a national level Optimist Sailing Event. He ended up qualifying for the regatta in April which will give him a shot at the US national and international team, congratulations to Brendan Little!

- In a recent gymnastics meet, 3rd grader Isabelle VanEmburgh had her best all around score and qualified for the state championships
- Mayor Robert C. Willey presented The Country School with a trophy for winning first place with their float in Easton's Olde Tyme Holiday Parade

- Isabelle VanEmburgh deserves a congratulations for her participation on the Talbot Braves Jr. Pee Wee Cheer squad, as they placed first in the Bayside Cheer Championships.
- Here are the Innisbrook "Top Seller" Winners: 1st place: Carter Jules wins an iPod Nano, 2nd place: Hannah Blackwood wins a $50 Target gift card, 3rd place: Taylor Wass wins a $25 Target gift card. The following students sold over $300: Gracie Callahan, Catherine Hansen, John Hill, David Rogers, and Nick Shaw. The winner of the Lower School ice cream party is Second Grade. The winner of the Upper School pizza party is Sixth Grade. As a result of the high level of family participation in this Innisbrook fundraiser, the entire school has earned a dress down day. The dress down day will be November 9th.

11/9/11: Phillips Wharf Environmental Center Fishmobile visits The Country School!
Phillips Wharf Environmental Center brought their age-specific environmental education programs to our second graders using their Fishmobile, a rolling educational aquarium filled with live critters native to the Chesapeake Bay. The children experienced hands-on learning in a fun environment.

- one of our first graders recently won Champion and Reserve champion in two horse shows she was in, please congratulate Katherine Booth.
- at the end of the 3rd grade, one of our now fourth graders, Sarah Rosa, entered an area art contest entitled “Tred Avon’s Future: Preserving Our Watershed” and won the contest for her age group.

- right around the end of school last year, a few of our now fifth graders Olivia Keller, Charlotte Oxnam, and Kate Paris held an iced tea and cookie sale to benefit St. Vincent DePaul Society, and the food program that their fourth grade class worked on as part of their HO HO efforts
- one of our sixth graders, Luke Thomson had a lemonade stand to benefit Ryan Summers
- two sisters in the school, Hanna & Heleah Soulati, set up and ran a tennis tournament in West Virginia in support of Habitat for Humanity.
