Tuition and Financial Aid

The value of a Country School education should be measured not solely in dollars and cents, but in the quality of the faculty who teach our children and the curriculum which they implement. It lies in small classes with lots of individual attention, an appropriate level of challenge, and a nurturing environment. It lies in the day-to-day learning experience which not only imparts the requisite skills and information, but the pleasure and excitement of learning. It lies in discovery of personal and community values and the satisfaction of the individual student in contributing to a worthwhile endeavor.

Tuition for the 2020-2021 school year is $17,850 for grades 1-8, $15,400 for Kindergarten, and $9,975 for full-day Pre-Kindergarten. Tuition is all-inclusive; there are no additional program fees throughout the year. All school supplies are provided on opening day, compliments of The Country School Parents’ Association (CSPA).

Varied Payment Plans

Three payment plans are offered to accommodate the needs of Country School families. Every family makes a non-refundable deposit with the enrollment contract, and the remainder of the tuition may then be paid in one of three ways:

  • One-Payment Plan: A 10% enrollment deposit is due with the contract. The balance is paid in one payment on or before August 1. Tuition Refund Insurance is optional.
  • Two-Payment Plan: A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance is paid in two equal installments, which are due on August 1 and February 1. Tuition Refund Insurance (1.78% of total tuition) is required.
  • Monthly Payment Plan: A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance of tuition is paid on a 10-month payment schedule. The 1st payment due by August 1 is 15% of the total tuition, a $110 administration fee, and Tuition Refund Insurance (1.78% of total tuition), which is required for the monthly payment plan. The remaining 75% of tuition is due in 9 equal installments on the 1st day of the next nine months (September through May).

Financial Aid

The Country School believes in forging a partnership with parents in the education of their children. Families who enroll their children represent a broad spectrum of professions and incomes, and our varied payment plans help bring the benefits of a Country School education to many. In order to bring talent and diversity to the student body, financial aid is also offered to those who can demonstrate need.

All financial aid is awarded on the basis of need and the availability of financial aid funds. Thirty to forty percent of our families receive some financial aid each year. Financial aid awards are continued in subsequent years so long as: there remains a demonstrable need, the student continues to achieve at a satisfactory level, and funds are available. Families must reapply each year in order to continue to receive financial aid.

The process of applying for financial aid is completely confidential and is the same for a new applicant or for a re-enrolling student. In the case of divorce or separation, both natural parents are required to contribute to the cost of their child’s education.

The deadline to apply for financial aid at The Country School for the 2020-2021 school year is February 15, 2020 for returning families.

Financial aid applications for new families can be considered on a rolling basis.
