Tuition and Financial Aid

The value of a Country School education should be measured not solely in dollars and cents, but in the quality of the faculty who work with our children and the curriculum they facilitate. Small classes with individual attention, an appropriate level of challenge, and a nurturing environment are key elements of our value. The day-to-day learning experience imparts the requisite skills and information and generates a great deal of pleasure and excitement for learning. Students discover personal and community values and the satisfaction of contributing to a worthwhile endeavor.

2021 - 2022 TUITION
  • Pre-Kindergarten: $10,275
  • Kindergarten: $15,860
  • Grades 1-8: $18,390
Tuition is all-inclusive. Families may use After-School Care on an as-needed basis at an additional cost, and may purchase uniforms from our Cougar Shop or via Lands' End.

Payment Options

Three payment plans are offered to accommodate the needs of Country School families. Every family makes a non-refundable deposit with the enrollment contract; the remainder of the tuition may then be paid in one of three ways:

  • One-Payment Plan: A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance is paid in one payment on or before August 1. Tuition Refund Insurance is optional.
  • Two-Payment Plan: A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance is paid in two equal installments, which are due on August 1 and February 1. Tuition Refund Insurance (1.73% of tuition, less any financial aid) is required.
  • Monthly Payment Plan: A 10% deposit is due with the enrollment contract. The balance of tuition is paid on a 10-month payment schedule, with 15% paid August 1 and the remainder split equally over 9 months from Sept 1 through May 1. Tuition Refund Insurance (1.73% of tuition, less any financial aid) is required. One-time administrative fee of $150.

Financial Aid

The Country School believes in forging a partnership with parents in the education of their children. Families who enroll their children represent a broad spectrum of professions and incomes, and our varied payment plans help bring the benefits of a Country School education to many. In order to bring talent and diversity to the student body, financial aid is also offered to those who demonstrate need.

All financial aid is awarded on the basis of need and the availability of financial aid funds. Thirty to forty percent of our families receive some financial aid each year. Financial aid awards are continued in subsequent years, so long as there remains a demonstrable need and funds are available. Families reapply each year in order to continue to receive financial aid.

The process of applying for financial aid is completely confidential and is the same for a new applicant or for a re-enrolling student. In the case of divorce or separation, both natural parents are required to contribute to the cost of their child’s education.

Please note that the maximum financial aid award for Pre-K is $2,500.

The deadline to apply for financial aid at The Country School for the 2021-2022 school year is March 15, 2021 for returning families.

Financial aid applications for new families can be considered on a rolling basis.
