Ms. Brent Returns to School -- To Exhibit Her Art Work

By: Gina Brent
Ms. Brent returned to her alma mater to exhibit some recent work.

While I haven’t pursued my own art in a while, I participated in my alma mater’s first African American Artists Alumni Exhibition at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where I exhibited my latest handmade paper weaving.

While studying weaving in college, I took a paper-making course and began making handmade paper. Combining the two art forms of weaving and paper-making was a natural marriage for both art forms, resulting in my handmade paper weavings.

I must say that the opportunity to showcase my work with former classmates was truly exciting. It was great being part of an exhibition with so many practicing artists and teachers. I look forward to creating new art work and hope to participate in showcasing my work in the future.
