2018 Summer Camp Guide

March is almost over and many of us parents are desperately piecing together our children’s summer activities. Check out our summer camp guide for details on the many options here on the Eastern Shore. Click on the organization name to visit its list of camp offerings.
Astronauts and artists alike can find something in the offerings from AAM. Camps run throughout the summer and range in cost from $100-175. Most are for children, but adults are welcome at some.
 
Camp Bumblebee (ages 2-3), Camp Pollywog (4-6), Camp Paw Paw (7-9), and Camp Egret (10-12) meet from June through July and range in price from $75-185, depending upon member status. Camps are nature-based so that children get hands-on experiences outdoors.
 
Petite Players (grades K-2), Curtain Call (grades 5-8), and Short Week/Big Show (grades 2-8) are just three camps the Avalon Theatre will offer this summer.. Camps begin in late June and range in cost from $150-275.
 
Archery, horseback riding, and photography are only three of the summer camp options at Camp Pecometh in Centreville. Fees vary greatly, so please visit the link above for more information.
 
Want your child(ren) to experience a 3-day mini camp, or would you prefer an option for the whole family? Camp Tockwogh has both, and more.
 
Located on picturesque Kent Island, Camp Wright in Stevensville is a faith-based camp for active kids. $165-770.
 
Is your child a natural steward of the environment? Then this might be what you’re looking for. CBEC offers camps for children entering kindergarten through 12th grade. $125-$225.
 
Jump Start to Kindergarten (for children enrolled for K), June 11-15, $185. I'm a Big Kid Now! (for 4-year-olds), June 18-22, $130. Click the link above to register. 
 
This farm in Stevensville offers multiple week-long camps throughout the summer for children ages 5-10. Their page says info is to come, so you may need to check back.
 
There is an option for every age at EHOS. Situated on the upper eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay, campers can stay in cabins for sleep-away camp or come just for day camp.
 
The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake offer camps in Denton, Salisbury, Earleville, and other areas on the mid-shore. Click above for more information.
 
For aspiring golfers ages 6-17, Hog Neck offers one-week camps in June, July, and August. Click above to register.
 
Children ages 4-13 can learn about self-defense through fun games and drills. Sessions run throughout the summer. Register at the link above.

Mike Elzey's Guitar Studio
Guitar, voice, and general music exploration are just some of what Mike Elzey will offer this summer for children ages 6-18. Camps are $130 and run June through July.

 
Kiln Born has really upped their summer camp game this year! Farm life, shark week, and mythical creatures are just some of what campers can experience. Registration may be made online or in the studio. 
 
EcoCamp at Pickering Creek is available for children entering kindergarten through 7th grade. Days at EcoCamp are filled with swimming, ponding, hiking, crafts, meeting animals, and a whole lot more that will fill your little naturalist with even more curiosity about the world around them. (Note: All Pickering Creek camps sell out quickly!) $130-$180.
 
For students passionate about learning about and improving the environment, PWEC offers camps in marine biology and Tilghman critters!

River's Edge Forest Play
One of the most anticipated options this summer is the outdoor-based River's Edge Forest Play camp in Trappe. Building, creating, and using your imagination is a must for River's Edge campers. Choose from one of many camps, including Art Gone Wild, Fairies and Trolls of the Forest, and Mad Scientists, just to name a few. Camps run June through August. (Fun fact: TCS parent Katelin Frase is an instructor!)
 
Schrader’s Bridgetown Manor offers camps in June, July, and August for kids ages 9-17. These are safety-based programs that teach boys and girls about proper methods for shooting shotguns, 22s, air rifles, archery, and fishing. $130-$255.
 
SMCC has after-school programs during the year, as well as summer offerings from cooking to crabbing to sports. Contact the Center for more information.
 
Children ages 5-12 may sign up weekly or for the entire summer for camp with TCPR. Each week carries with it a new theme and activities and runs for 10 weeks from 7am-6pm. $150, 50 slots total. Registration must occur prior to the first week of camp.
 
Classes in the Junior Sailing Program run June to August and there are options for kids ages 6-18. Private lessons, opti racing, and regatta coaching are also available.

YMCA of the Chesapeake holds camps throughout the summer in Talbot and surrounding counties for children as young as 3, including traditional camps and specialty camps beginning at $130 for members.
