    ELIZABETH HACKETT graduated from Davidson College with a B.A. in English, and she holds an M.Ed. in Educational Technology Leadership from The George Washington University. She began her career in education teaching sixth grade language arts in Charlotte, NC as a Teach For America corps member. After working in the Outreach Department of a Baltimore-based education non-profit, Elizabeth founded and served as the Executive Director of PageTurners: Girls Who Read to Achieve, a network of after school book clubs for at-risk middle school girls. As the Executive Director of PageTurners, Elizabeth developed and implemented the organization's program model and was responsible for fundraising to grow and sustain the organization. Building on her experience fundraising for PageTurners, Elizabeth then spent six years in advancement at Chesapeake College, where she most recently served as the Director of Constituent Engagement and Executive Director of the Chesapeake College Foundation.

    ANN HANSEN has been an educator for over 15 years and holds a BA in psychology from Roanoke College and an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Lesley University in Massachusetts. She has taught at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, California and at Friends School in Baltimore. After her daughter Kate began kindergarten at The Country School, Ann worked part time at The Academy Art Museum in Easton teaching school groups as well as conducting art lessons to populations with special needs. Ann then took on the role as the Director and Lead Teacher of the Mini Masters Early Enrichment Program at the Museum. When Covid temporarily closed this program, she began substituting at The Country School and then joined the faculty full time in 2021.
     
    Ann loves traveling, hiking and spending time bird watching with her family. Ann has lived most of her life between Philadelphia and the Eastern Shore with time spent in California and Boston. She lives in Easton with her husband Lars, daughter Kate, dog Blu and cat Maya. "I feel so fortunate to part of The Country School community as a teacher as well as a parent!"

    In addition to teaching art to Upper School students, SUSAN HORSEY has been an involved and talented member of our school community as both a parent and substitute teacher.  

    Susan earned her Bachelor’s degree from Western Maryland College and studied at the Art Students League of New York City. After that, she worked for two years as an architectural renderer in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She has freelanced in decorative arts, exhibiting at The Waterfowl Festival, is an Easton Banner Artist, and teaches art to children at the Academy Art Museum, where she is a past board member.
     
    Susan lives in Easton with her husband Buck and their sons, both of whom attended The Country School: Harvey ’99 and Spencer ’00.
