Kindergarten Distance Learning

START OF THE DAY
Each morning, Kindergarten Distance Learning begins with the Question of the Day, followed by Mrs. Godlee’s or Mrs. Kullman’s morning message. Each teacher discusses the work for that day and teaches a relevant lesson.

LANGUAGE ARTS
Language Arts lessons include phonemic and phonological awareness exercises, phonics instruction and practice, as well as introduction and practice with sight words. This is in addition to story time, comprehension activities, and teacher- or student-directed writing activities.

MATH
During Math, students warm-up with the Problem of the Day and then work through online guided lesson material provided through our enVision Math program. This is followed by problem-solving activities and games, as well as hands-on and written practice.

SOCIAL STUDIES
Social Studies lessons are provided each week through fiction and nonfiction literature sources, discovery and writing activities and is often integrated into language arts. Teachers hold small group and whole group meetings each week as well as one-on-one sessions as needed.
