Country School Unveils New Campus and Renovations

By: Annie Hasselgren
The Country School celebrated the completion of its most momentous project to date: the addition of a new campus for grades 5-8, as well as renovation of its existing campus and parking lot. The accomplishment was honored on Monday, September 9th at 9am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the school’s major donors, faculty, staff, and Maryland dignitaries.

The project kicked off on May 29, 2018, with a groundbreaking ceremony that marked the official start of construction. The three-phase project, managed by Willow Construction, entailed an extensive revamping of parking; a new campus for students in grades 5-8 which includes new spaces for art, STEAM, and more; a new preschool space; and renovations to a large portion of the school’s existing campus. Now completed, the result has proven to be a charming addition to the Goldsborough corridor.

Headmaster Neil Mufson said, “Due to the extraordinary efforts of many, many people and the generosity of our many donors, we now have a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility that more closely reflects the aspirations we hold for our children. However, our greatest strengths will continue to be the exceptional quality of our program, faculty, and school culture.”

The Country School marked its 85th opening day of school on Tuesday, September 10.
