Summer Camp Guide 2020
Check out all of the great options for families this summer in Talbot County and beyond!
Camps on weather, clay, and animal adventures are just some of the offerings from AAM. Camps run throughout the summer and range in cost from $100-175. Most are for children, but adults are welcome at some.
Camp Bumblebee (ages 2-3), Camp Pollywog (4-6), Camp Paw Paw (7-9), Camp Egret (10-12), and Camps Sassafras (13-15) meet from June through July and range in price from $75-185, depending upon member status. Camps are nature-based so that children get hands-on experiences outdoors.
From Plein Air art camp to filmmaking, the Avalon has something for every child this summer. Camps begin in late June and range in cost from $175-275.
Archery, river trekking, and horseback riding are only three of the summer camp options at Camp Pecometh in Centreville. Fees vary greatly, so please visit the link above for more information.
Want your child(ren) to experience a 3-day mini camp, or would you prefer an option for the whole family? Camp Tockwogh has both, and more. Visit their website (linked above) for more details.
Located on picturesque Kent Island, Camp Wright in Stevensville is a faith-based camp for active kids offering both day and residential camps. $235-680.
Is your child a natural steward of the environment? Then this might be what you’re looking for. CBEC offers camps for children entering kindergarten through 12th grade.
We are very excited to resume summer programming since the completion of our campus renovation. Check out our offerings: Dangerous Camp for Boys or Girls, STEAM in the Summer, Tabletop Club, Mystery Camp, and more. Camps are for children rising into grades 1-8 and kids need not be Country School students register! $150.
There is an option for every age at EHOS. Situated on the upper eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay, campers can stay in cabins for sleep-away camp or come just for day camp
For aspiring golfers ages 6-17, Hog Neck offers 2.5-hour, 4-day camps once per month in June, July, and August. Register by email or at the Pro Shop.
This downtown Easton favorite offers half-day week-long camps from 9am to 12pm for children ages 6-13. Camps are $200/week and families may choose from a variety of themes.

EcoCamp at Pickering Creek is available for children entering kindergarten through 7th grade. Days at EcoCamp are filled with swimming, ponding, hiking, crafts, meeting animals, and a whole lot more that will fill your little naturalist with even more curiosity about the world around them. $230-250. (Note: Registration has begun and camps sell out quickly!)
Schrader’s safety-based programs teach boys and girls about proper methods for shooting shotguns, 22s, air rifles, archery, and fishing. $130-255.
SMCC has after-school programs during the year, as well as summer offerings from cooking to crabbing to sports. Contact the Center for more information.
Children ages 5-12 may sign up weekly or for the entire summer for camp with TCPR. Activities include field trips, sports, swimming, arts and crafts, movies and more. Camps are available from June 17 to August 23 from 7am-6pm. $150.
Classes in the Junior Sailing Program run June to August, and there is a Junior Instructor Program for kids 6-16. Private lessons, opti racing, and regatta coaching are also available.
Tuckahoe offers day camps to children ages 8-14 in June, July, and August. Campers will explore the park on foot or mountain bike, enjoy water activities, fish, learn archery, and much more. The park also offers Park Pals and Junior Ranger programs.
YMCA of the Chesapeake holds camps throughout the summer for children as young as 3, including traditional camps and specialty camps beginning at $130 for members.

Kindergarten Students Serving Others!
Kindergarteners have been participating in a 3 part HOHO (Helping Others; Helping Ourselves) project lead by Ferris and Laura Butler. Students packed boxes to be shipped to veterans and their families. The boxeswere filled with child friendly, donated items. Also in the boxes were handwritten letters from the students along with a handmade American flag craft. The Butlers carefully orchestrated this project, and we are very grateful for their time and efforts. -
Spring Athletic Award Winners
Congratulations to all our spring athletics award winners and to all our Cougar athletes who participated in sports and clubs! This spring, TCS offered Boys’ and Girls’ Lacrosse, Pickleball Club, Running Club, and Volleyball Club. Providing so many athletic opportunities took a village—thank you to our amazing coaches, volunteers, and parent drivers for making it all possible!
