Fall Bucket List

By: Annie Hasselgren
There is no shortage of family fun to be had on the Eastern Shore and across the Bridge this fall. Here are some options for you and yours to explore in the fall months.

Farms & Pumpkin Patches

Councell Farms - Cordova, MD
Most of us are well acquainted with Councell Farms as the ideal spot for a Friday play date or weekend family outing, but did you know that they also offer parties and school tours? Have your child’s fall birthday at the farm. Packages start at $250.

Emily’s Produce - Cambridge, MD
In addition to farm tours, field trips, and birthday parties, Emily’s Produce also offers a CSA (Community-Supported Agriculture). A half bushel box starts at $140. So plan some healthy meals and support Eastern Shore farming, one box at a time.

Filasky’s Produce - Middletown, DE
One of the fastest growing towns in Delaware, Middletown continues to add options for shopping and dining on a monthly basis. Spend a day with the family and catch a movie, play mini golf, take a hay ride at Filasky’s, or all three!

Dominic’s Farm - Queenstown, MD
Just a short drive north of Easton sits a charming little family-run farm that offers pony classes, horseback riding lessons, farm camp, toddler story time, and even a parents’ night out. The farm also features bunnies, chickens, and other critters for your children to swoon over.

Warrington Farm - Queenstown, MD
Looking for an epic corn maze or something as simple as face painting? Warrington Farm has you covered. Hungry? They even have a snack bar that will grill up hot dogs or hamburgers.

Events

Saturday, November 2, 2018
Did your kids like the movie Coco? If so, check out this event for all ages, featuring a costume contest, kid zone, mariachi music, and more.

Sunday, November 3, 2018
Billed as the longest International Tug-of-War over water in the world, the event was originally conceived by the residents of Eastport in 1997 when the City of Annapolis used the excuse of a "public works project" to close the Spa Creek bridge that leads to Eastport from Annapolis. Bring the family and check out this one-of-a-kind spectacle.

Punkin’ Chunkin’ - Rehoboth Beach, DE
Saturday November 10, 2018, 1-5pm
Big Chill Surf Cantina
Teams compete to see who can hurl a pumpkin through the air the farthest! Enjoy a great fall day with your favorite area craft brewers and food off the grill. Competitors must sign up individually. Attendance is FREE for spectators. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co.

Waterfowl Festival - Easton, MD
November 9-11, 2018
From Dock Dogs to calling contests, there is something for everyone at Waterfowl Festival in our very own Easton. There is fun for the whole family, including a raffle for a TRACKER® GRIZZLY® MVX Sportsman boat.

Ghost Tours

Annapolis Tours & Crawls - Annapolis, MD
Annapolis Tours & Crawls have been storytelling for more than decade. The ghost walk tells stories of Joe Morgue (the gravedigger), Thomas Dance, the Headless Man, and Amy (the working girl who haunts Rams Head Tavern). Do you have the courage?

Baltimore Ghost Tours - Baltimore, MD
Fells Point is an historic, maritime neighborhood along the north shore of Baltimore Harbor, and Mount Vernon is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore and a cultural district in the city. Ticket prices range between $8 (children 12 and under on the Original Fells Point Ghostwalk) and $20 for the pub tour. This company held their first ghost tour in 2007, two years after the founders published a book about ghosts haunting Baltimore’s Harbor.

Take a 90-minute candlelight ghost walk for $10-16/person. In October, the tour includes the inside of the William Paca House. Ghostly sightings and supernatural and tragic events of haunted Annapolis are explored in this tour.
